Crossroads Programs, Inc. an Apis Affiliate is seeking a professional interested in joining our team as a Youth Support Worker in Cinnaminson, NJ. The ideal candidate is professionally passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of adolescent mothers between the ages of 14 and 21 who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.

About Capable Adolescent Mother’s Home

CAM - Capable Adolescent Mothers is a residential program designed to provide five adolescent mothers, between the ages 14 to 21 with a safe and stable living environment, parenting education, life skills training, educational support, and counselling services to help them build foundations for success. The little ones of our CAM residents also receive care and support, including early childhood education and developmental screenings. The goal is to empower young mothers to become self-sufficient and create a better future for themselves and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with adolescent mothers, promoting a safe and supportive environment within the group home.
  • Provide guidance and support in areas such as parenting skills, education, employment, financial management, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating life skills workshops, educational programs, and recreational activities for mothers.
  • Teach and encourage responsible parenting practices, including infant care, nutrition, and child development.
  • Monitor and document residents' progress, maintaining accurate records of their achievements, challenges, and any incidents.
  • Ensure a safe and clean-living environment by conducting regular inspections and addressing maintenance needs promptly.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary, following established protocols and ensuring the safety of all residents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology with one year of experience in direct care for youth in a behavioral health agency or institutional setting.
  • High School diploma holders with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean standing over the past 6 months is required.
  • Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances.
  • All new hires are required to successfully complete Safety Crisis Management (SCM) certification within one week of hire.
    • Training Overview:
      - Duration: The SCM program spans three days.
      - Physical Demands: Active participation in physically demanding activities is necessary.
