Hiring: Part-time Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) Internship

We are seeking part-time Counselor Interns to join our team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in addictions counseling to gain practical experience in a supportive paid environment.

This Counselor Intern position provides a structured learning environment where you can enhance your skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time, Internship

Shift:

7am - 3pm

3pm - 11pm

Must work 3 shifts per week.

Location: Woodridge Interventions, 2221 64^th Street, Woodridge, IL 60517

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) Internship

JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you will provide group and individual counseling, community support, case coordination and crisis intervention services to clients with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Complete assessment of each client
• Initiate and sustain each individual’s motivation to participate in treatment.
• Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client.
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups.

Minimum Education & License / Credential Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and twenty-four (24) credit hours of college education or accredited training program in substance abuse counseling and/or other human services area.
• Higher education given preference.

• Obtain an IAODAPCA CADC within two years after the date of employment commences; and

Other Hiring Requirements

• Ability to promote positive behavior and manage resistant behavior.
• Physical ability to safely and effectively manage aggressive behavior.
• Assertiveness, confidence and leadership abilities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Criminal clearances (State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
• Drug screen, TB test
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
